Designing a new way for remote teams to collaborate online
The client
Switchboard aims to change the way remote teams collaborate in an online space by providing the tools and environments necessary to have spontaneous and collaborative conversations with teammates in a shared space. Switchboard has secured $38,8 million in funding and has won Product Hunt of the day on 02 May 2022. They have been recognized as one of 20 Rising Stars on Forbes' Cloud 100 list, as well as one of the best inventions of 2022 by the Times, and have won a Webby Award for Apps, dApps and Software Productivity & Collaboration in 2023.
The challenge
Developing an app that did not yet exist or had similar competitors at the time, required me to look at some of the features we wanted to build with a fresh set of eyes and develop patterns that were easy to understand and comprehend.
My role
My role was to design fast so we could validate the designs with real users while Switchboard was in Beta. During this time, I designed various features and maintained their Design System, worked closely with the Product Manager, Marco Iacono (prev. Samsung, Apple) and their Engineering Team to ensure the designs matched the live product and was kept to a high standard.
