From vision to build: designing Narrative’s full AI experience for compliance in 4 months
Compliance can be a complicated and time-consuming process that takes a lot of research. The Narrative set out to make this easier by automating key tasks so compliance teams could focus on their main goal - their company. They needed help updating old compliance methods with modern tools to make processes smoother. One big challenge was training AI to read different documents from various sources and spot potential compliance issues. This also meant designing a user interface that made it simple for teams to review and apply the AI’s findings to their existing documents.
How I shaped the project
As Lead Product Designer, I partnered closely with the founders to design and launch Narrative’s AI-powered compliance solution in just four months. I conducted research to understand compliance workflows and pain points, then created a scalable design system to ensure speed and consistency across the product. I designed features that streamlined daily compliance tasks, making it simple for teams to review AI-generated findings and apply them to their documents.
Impact
I left this project ahead of development ending, and do not have exact data to inform success, however, I can with confidence say that I have achieved the following:
Streamlined compliance workflows by designing intuitive, AI-powered tools that automated document review, issue detection, and project management.
Improved team efficiency and onboarding by simplifying complex processes and reducing manual tasks, enabling faster ramp-up for new users.
Delivered dev-ready designs with a scalable design system, enabling engineering to begin implementation with clarity and speed.
